15º Valdivia International Film Festival submission regulations |
The 15º Valdivia International Film Festival opened the submission regulations, which can be found on the Festival's website www.ficv.cl. The event will be held in Valdivia, from October 3rd to October 8th, 2008.
The categories to compete are: full-length fiction films, shortfilms, documentaries, regional video (fiction and documentary) and young people, this new category was created for young creators (up to 30 years) with new works in fiction and documentary. New directors can apply to this category, no matter where they study.
The Organizing Committee eliminated the registration fee. That decision was taken in order to benefit all the participants and improve their registration.
CONDITIONS
In order to compete, eligible films must have been finished January 2007 or later. Films must be registered through an electronic form available at our website. Besides, filmmakers must submit a copy in DVD format (PAL or NTSC) spoken or subtitled in Spanish, for the pre-selection.
After submiting your film through the electronic form, you will receive a confirmation mail which has to be added to the DVD copy for the pre-selection process.
The Organizing Committee will not accept films that participated on other versions of the Valdivia International Film Festival.
No work that has participated in the pre-selection process, or as an official selection of previous versions of the Valdivia International Film Festival will be accepted.

SELECTION
The final date of registration, as well as for reception of the material in DVD format, along with all the information required for the pre-selection process, both in Spanish and English, is June 13. 2008.
Film selection will be informed by email to the applicant beginning July 27, 2008.
Original copies of the selected films must get to Valdivia by August 27, 2008 at the latest.
You must remember that every work that doesn't fulfil the regulations or where not accepted on the pre-selection process will not be accepted and we will return them to the sender.
The 15º Valdivia International Film Festival is organized by the Universidad Austral de Chile, produced by the Centro Cultural de Promoción Cinematográfica de Valdivia and the invitation corresponds to the Municipalidad de Valdivia.
